SilkyMilk provides a cute, cool, smooth, spunky sound to our heroine, Talia, along with a unique accent to the flirtatious Vie, while MochaBlob gives rival/deuteragonist Faye a tricky sort of softer sound that belies her competitive hostility. Voice (★★★★★): Literally everything in Future Fragments is fully voiced, and here is where we really start to see the difference in quality shine. From there, the electric level's stage music in particular has some really nice energy with the drum beats and guitar-evocative synth, both of which have a nice fade effect to keep dialogue sounding crisp. And that's before you're even past the title screen. Rather than stock music or utter silence, Future Fragments brings some genuinely iconic music to a genre that is almost defined by a complete lack thereof. Unironically a song I've left the game open just to hear more of. Music (★★★★★): As the first thing you'll encounter when playing Future Fragments, the title theme quickly steals the show and sets a clear mood with a delicate, bassy beat that swells into a soaring melody. As such, it more than earns a perfect score on presentation. It oozes style and radiates atmosphere, in a way few games can replicate- H or otherwise. ^^ Ībove all else, Future Fragments feels distinctive. ![]() It occurs to me in retrospect that this just makes my commentary on the H-content all look like intrusive thought, but, well. So, for those of you only interested in the H-related content (we've all been there), discussion of the H-content will be highlighted pink, for your convenience. I plan to give my full opinion on Future Fragments as both an H-game and a conventional action platformer. Beneath each will be a more detailed list of the factors that comprise the total score for each of those categories. There is a lot for me to say, so I'll start by breaking things down into overall scores for presentation, story, and gameplay. There's a pervasive feeling of atmosphere and polish about the whole of Future Fragments, to which very few games can attempt to compare. ![]() If that isn't a ringing endorsement of the game's unreasonably high standards of quality, then I'm not quite sure what will be. Enough so for me to review an H-game that's ostensibly made for straight audiences, despite my being a lesbian. Boss weapons are the most expensive items to craft and upgrade, so when you do craft one, make sure you enjoy using it before you spend precious lumenite crystals upgrading it.Future Fragments is perhaps the highest quality H-game I've ever personally played, and an exceptional action-platformer besides. A reliable weapon mod should be next, as these don't require upgrading. ![]() Upgrading your starting weapon should be a priority, as it's the most cost-effective way to improve your character's gear score. Lumenite is also used for crafting weapon mods, which can be attached to regular weapons for special alt-fires.Ĭonsequently, you'll often have more crafting options than available resources, so it's important to be prudent about how you use them. Boss weapons, meanwhile are both crafted and upgraded using lumenite crystals, dropped by the special enemies you fight in the various realms. All weapons cost scrap to both create and upgrade, while basic weapons also require iron. Equally important is deciding how to distribute the resources collected as you explore. Crafting and upgrading weapons is an important component of Remnant 2.
